Iran’s “Ronak” sells for $157,000 at Seven Views expo
“Ronak” was the second most expensive work at the exhibit, while the first also belonged to Darudi, fetching 180 million rials (about $189,473).
Aidin Aghdashlu’s second work named “Memories of Destruction” also went on display during the final days of the expo which ended on March 9.
Aghdashlu, whose first painting was sold to Eqtesad Novin Bank for 50 million rials (about $5,300), is convinced that there are limited opportunities to sell artworks in Iran.
“Any event which helps develop artwork marketing in Iran is most welcome. The grand exhibit was a good experience and we can pave the way for organization of more galleries next years through studying the weak and strong points,” he noted.
The showcase, which is regarded as this year’s grand exhibition of visual arts, sold tableaus by Adel Yunesi, Mehdi Sahabi, and Golnaz Fat’hi
Exhibition visitors also purchased works by Mohammad Javadipur, Yaqub Ammamepich, Mohammad-Ebrahim Jafari, Shahla Habibi, Ahmad Vakili, Maryam Salur, Jalal Shabahangi, Seyyed Mehdi Hosseini, and Hossein Mahjubi.
The show was cosponsored by seven Tehran galleries, Aria, Elaheh, Dey, Golestan, Haft Samar, Vali, and Mah-e Mehr.
